Holstein Association USA, Inc., the world’s largest dairy breed organization, seeks applicants for their 2009 Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder Award. The award is bestowed upon a Registered Holstein producer or producer couple demonstrating the additional opportunities of Registered Holsteins through overall farm management practices and industry leadership initiatives.

The recipient of the award will join the ranks of many of the top dairy producers in the country, and will be the 21st young producer to achieve Distinguished Young Holstein Breeder status.

Requirements:
The nominee(s) must be between the ages of 21 and 40 (as of December 31, 2008) and be a member of the Holstein Association USA, Inc. Applicants applying as a couple or as business partners must all meet the age requirements. Herd ownership and/or management responsibility are required and the herd they manage must be on DHIA test.

Applications:
Applications are available from the national office or the state associations. Deadline for entries is March 31, 2009.
