The Junior Breeder of an Excellent Award is a program designed to recognize National Junior Members of the Holstein Association USA who have, through the course of their project work, bred a Holstein cow who has been officially type classified "Excellent." In order to qualify for this award, the Junior must be listed as the breeder of the cow in question. Cows owned in partnerships will only be accepted if the partners were Junior members at the time the cow was bred. Partnerships which include adult members will not be considered for this award. In order to qualify for this award, the cow on this entry blank must have been classified "Excellent" on or after January 1, 2007 and must have a minimum of 87% Registered Holstein Ancestry. Deadline for receipt of applications is May 1, 2009. Applicants are encouraged to submit a photo of their cow to be used in a power point presentation. The photo does not have to be of professional quality. Winners of this award will be recognized at the Junior Forum during the National Junior Holstein Convention. |
