Red Book Plus
is a sire selection PC-based software program based on
more than 180 traits that allows users to select from over 1200 AI sires
currently available in the U.S. Red Book Plus allows users to determine
the best mating for a cow by simply entering the sire and maternal grandsire
of the animal being mated. The program then selects the top three traits
that need improvement based on the pedigree values and uses the results
to select the top three bulls to use. There is a complete overview of each
sire with screens showing all genetic values, changes in values from the
last sire summary, linear traits, a 3-generation lineage pedigree, daughter
averages and much more. Many color graphs make the information easy to understand.

MultiMate for Windows combines the sire selection of Red Book Plus with a very complete and easy to use individual cow mating program. It focuses on each cow in the herd and their individual strengths and weaknesses by looking at their linear trait scores from our classification program or from other sources as well as pedigree information. Matings are made based on a producer's breeding goals with emphasis placed on traits like stature, strength, feet and legs and udder. MultiMate also assists the user with managing inbreeding levels. The program is updated quarterly after each genetic update.
