Our National Junior Holstein Photo Contest is underway. We're looking for photos that showcase the Holstein breed—and its people—at their best. Maybe you have taken photos at your farm or at one of the many Junior Holstein activities you're involved with that illustrate the values and attributes of the Holstein industry—we want to see them!

All images must include at least one Holstein animal and should illustrate the best attributes and values of the Holstein industry. Although it is not required, contestants may select from the following themes:

Scenes around the farm
Pasture scenes
People with Holsteins
Holstein activities
Kid with calves
Seasonal

Entries must be received by January 5, 2016.

Rules & Regulations:

To be eligible to compete in the Photo Contest contestants must be National Junior Holstein members. (Click here to download a membership application.) The contest is divided into three age divisions:

	Junior Division -9-13 years old, as of January 1, 2015
	Intermediate Division -14-17 years old, as of January 1, 2015
	Senior Division -18-21 years old, as of January 1, 2015

This contest is meant to be fun and educational, and give youth opportunities to practice their photography skills.

Contestants may submit only one entry.

The photos must be the original work of the Junior Holstein member.

Contestants entering this contest give Holstein Association USA consent to reprint the picture in any publications in the future, or to use it on the Holstein Association USA Web site.

Photos will be judged on impact, creativity, quality, composition, and subject matter.

Results will be posted online. Photos will not be returned.

Awards will be given to the top three individuals in each division. A grand prize winner will receive a Kindle Fire. All participants will receive a participation certificate.

Submission Guidelines:

Digital photos should be high-resolution, at least 300 dpi. If sent by email, the maximum file size cannot be more than 8MB. Attach the photo file to the email; do not embed it. If you do not receive an email within 60 hours confirming that your picture was received via email, please contact Susan Harlow at 800.952.5200, ext. 4165. The email subject line should read "Junior Photo Contest."

Photos sent through the mail may be either printed (must be printed on 8x10 photo paper, preferably by a photo center) or burned to a CD (at least 300 dpi). Each entry should include photo title, your full name, division, address, phone number, and date of birth.
