Below is a chart describing the different lists, formats, and costs.
State Locator Lists are a great way to see how your cows compare to others in the area, based on their Cow Total Performance Index (CTPI). Each state list contacts cows from a given state that are on the National Locator List. State lists are available in a paper format for $75/file.
This feature allows you to search the Locator List online using your own criteria.
Example: You may want to view daughters of certain bulls with a minimum of 25,000 pounds of milk in a 305 day record.
You will be able to view the top 100, 200, or 1,000 cows, sorted however you choose. Once you have set your search and sort criteria, you will be given the option to view the results online or download a data file for use on your own computer. Your account will be charged $150 for each search performed.
The Locator List is made up of the breed's top 5,000 CTPI cows. The printed Locator List is published twice a year, following the calculation of new genetic indexes in December and August. Cows are sorted by state, and owners are sorted by zip code within the state, then alphabetically within zip code. You may obtain the Locator List in a data file or paper version for $1000.
On the list, you will see the animal's:
- PTAs
- Lactation record
- Classification score
- Sire and maternal grandsire
- Owner's complete name, address, phone number and DHIA number
